Oval Jump Ring Chain Tutorial
In this tutorial you will learn how to make oval jump rings and also how to make a professional looking Spiral Rope chain that can be used for both women and men alike. The chain is very strong due to the links interweaving – so will not fall apart at the drop of a hat! Wear it simply on it’s own – or add a favourite pendant – even make a length suitable for a bracelet and add charms. Materials
Wire used in project is 20g round half hard.
Each oval jump ring measures approx ¼”(6mm) by 3/16 “(4mm) in size.
For a 15” (38cm) length I used approx 180 oval jump rings, and each link uses approx ½” of wire. 12 oval jump rings = 1”(2.5cm) approx.

* If you wish to make a larger ring –use 2 size 12 knitting needles(AU sizing).

- 8’ (2.4mtrs) approx. 20g round half hard wire of your choice.·
- Clasp of choice
Tools: ·
- 2 darning needles or 2 pieces of 14g wire for mandrel*
- Flush cutters
- Needle nose pliers
- Chain nose pliers
- Masking tape or suitable tape to bind needles/wire for mandrel
* If you wish to make a larger ring –use 2 size 12 knitting needles(AU sizing).
